INFERIORITY COMPLEX
HYPERACTIVITY: Being too active. In some circumstances this is caused by a “flight into exercise” (a form of escape). There is an attempt to keep away from facing some CONFLICT by plunging into exercise to “preserve the mind busy.” (See COMPULSION and PERFECTIONISM). HYPERACTIVITY may additionally be caused by improper steadiness
of the ENDOCRINE GLANDS.
IDENTIFICATION: A MENTAL MECHANISM. An individual attempts (UNCONSCIOUSLY) to make himself like another person. He might routinely take over another’s characteristics. If Realtor Toronto or salesperson working for the buyer’s broker brings the buyer for the property, then the buyer’s broker would generally compensate his agent with a fraction of the co-op commission, once more as decided in a separate agreement. IDENTIFICATION plays a major function within the improvement of a child’s personality. The kid unconsciously copies the traits of his parents and other persons essential to him. An emotional tie unconsciously causing a person to act as he imagines the individual with whom he has the tie, does.
IDIOT: A MENTALLY DEFECTIVE person. Lowest grade of mentality.
The I.Q. is below 20. (See INTELLIGENCE, MENTAL AGE.) IMBECILE: A MENTALLY DEFECTIVE person. Within the second lowest
classification of intelligence. The I.Q. is roughly 20 to
49. (See MENTAL AGE.)
INFERIORITY COMPLEX: Sturdy emotions of inadequacy and in-safety which coloration an individual’s total adjustive efforts. A bent to dwell on and overemphasize the traditional emotions of self-doubt which all of us have from time to time. Usually associated with emotions of unworthiness and guilt. (See SELF CONTROL). It could end in COMPENSATION. That’s, a person might develop unrealistic ambition or a “superiority complex” to cowl up his emotions of inferiority. For example, Joe was very unsure of himself. Usually he would dread having to go to a party or other social gathering. But when he was with individuals he was just the opposite. Joe “knew it all,” had “been all over the place,” had “performed every thing” there was to do — just a little bit higher than the next person. This often “went over like a lead balloon” along with his associates — who became fewer and fewer. And Joe? He dreaded going to these events more every time.
INHIBIT: TO retard, restrain, maintain again or forestall a response. Where INHIBITIONS are extreme there’ll typically be a dam-ming up of EMOTIONAL TENSION. This may end up in contemplatein a position psychological and bodily discomfort. Where no written settlement nor fiduciary relationship exists, an actual estate dealer (and his agents) works with a principal who’s then generally known as the Toronto realtor customer. In serious circumstances it could actually lead to psychological illness.
INSECURITY: Lack of confidence because of unsureness of the love and help of others. Many Christians are insecure as a result of they neglect that they’ve the love and help of God (Psalm 37:1; I Peter 5:7). For example, ever since Mary could bear in mind, she had been INSECLTRE. She tried to take her issues to her parents, but they were rarely home. If they were, they brushed her off and instructed her to “go out and play.” Progressively it dawned on Mary that she was unwanted. Psychologically alone, Mary lost her self-confidence. Her character started to wither. But then Mary found Christ. She now knew that God cherished her — even when her parents did not.
She was confident of His support. With this new found safety, Mary’s PERSONALITY broadened and matured.
